Stephen E. Clark

Stephen E. Clark has built several publishing ventures over the course
of his 35-year career. His record, as both an owner and developer,
reflects a broad skill-set and strong grasp of today's revolution in
publishing.
He is currently focused on the publishing brands of Newbridge Media in
which he is a shareholder. He reports to a team of directors and
advisors.
Mr. Clark founded Newbridge Media in Fort Lee, NJ, in 2002, a year
after he sold his seven weekly newspapers (Bergen County Newspapers,
Inc.), to Macromedia, holding company of The Bergen Record,
Hackensack, NJ. He founded BCN in 1994 and sold the company in July
2001.
Since then he built The Ten Leaders Cooperative, a qualified
promotional cooperative of experienced professionals. And he founded,
also in 2002, Digital Press International (dpi.com), an independent
news service.
Today Newbridge Media's primary offices are located in
Charlottesville, VA, with contributors and staffers located in Park
Ridge, NJ, Dallas, TX, San Francisco, CA, and Sterling, VA.
A native of Washington, D.C., Mr. Clark was previously a staff writer
in New York focusing on funds management and pensions for
Institutional Investor magazine (1986-1992). Later he worked for
Thomson Financial Services (1992-1996) in journalism and
media-development capacities, also in New York. As product manager for
TFS, he designed, launched and managed BondData-Corporate Service in
1992 for Thomson unit Technical Data, Boston. In 1999, as BCN
publisher, he co-founded Guardian Digital and helped launch its news
site, linuxsecurity.com; he sold his interest to BCN IT administrator
Dave Wreski the following year.
He began his career as a reporter for The Savannah (Ga.) Morning News
(1981-1984) and for The Daily Journal newspaper of Caracas, Venezuela
(1984-1986). He has a B.A. from Tulane in History & Latin American
Studies. He is fluent in Spanish. He is a member of The Spalding Gray
Society. He lives today in North Garden, VA.
